THE NEXT BIG THING BLOG HOP

A shout out to Nora LeDuc for tagging me in the Next Big Thing. Her current release, STAGING MURDER is available from the Wild Rose Press or on Amazon. A great Christmas treat!

What is the title of your next book?
Working title is Echoes in the Wind. This is my first book. After many years of rejections and three laptops later, I'm very excited to have reached this point.

Where did the idea come from for the book?
This idea of Darla and Eric has been in my head since I was a young girl. I am an only child. As a teen, I was painfully shy, along with too many braces and not enough boobs which equaled a slow social calender. I'd drift to go off in my own little world, a place I always fit in and there I came up with the story about an ordinary girl meeting and falling in love with a rock star, though I imagine a lot of us had that dream at least once.

What genre does your book fall under?
Romance suspense

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition? My hero is from Scotland, and I love Gerard Butler, but he's too mature to play Eric. But if he did, I definitely would want to try out for the female lead. Seriously, if James McAvoy is willing to do a romance, he'd be my guy. The heroine, Isla Fisher would be a good fit for Darla.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

Fading rock star, whose former band mates is getting knocked off with him next in line, meets normal geology teacher and their two universes collide and the explosion is earth shattering.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

I've been fortunate to be contracted with The Wild Rose Press. The book is scheduled to be released sometimes in 2013

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

Oh wow, way too long. I went through a step by step process, learning to write and get my story from my head to where it made since on paper. So it took me about three years before I got it right.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

Tough question.I don't get to read as much as I'd like, so I'm not sure. I haven't read any.

Who or What inspired you to write this book?

There was no one thing, or person. Again, the story has been swimming around in my head for years, so I think it was necessary to get it out. Now I have new things swirling up there that I plan to write.

What else about your book might pique the reader interest?

This story has romance, some steam, suspense and a little fun thrown in on the side. Hope you'll pick up(or download) a copy.

Thanks for visiting!
